Tennessee Drag

The Dramatists Legal Defense Fund (the “DLDF”) has been fortunate to partner with several law firms in various states to tackle dramatists’ legal issues ranging from nonpayment to fair use litigation. We’re thankful to all these firms and look forward to continued work with them.

The DLDF has been monitoring the matter of Friends of Georges, Inc. v. Steven Mulroy, particularly any overbroad language of the Tennessee statute wherein restrictions on drag before those of minority age affect dramatic works with artistic value. Davis Wright Tremaine is working with us on the amicus, led by Bruce E. H. Johnson, Leena Charlton, and Gauruv K. Talwar. We look forward to filing at the end of September and will keep you all apprised.

If you or your firm would like to ensure that you’re in our network, please contact dfaux@dramatistsguild.com. We’re grateful to all our network firms’ advocacy in the arts and are excited to work with them on future DLDF projects.
